Handy to have
this gadget here is really neat. set anywhere in your boat and use the trolling motor to move you along. doesn't get in your way like the foot control does. handy to have around especially if your foot pedal screws up. wasn't too sure about spending the money for it but it sure is nice. i didn't have any problem installing it on my pontoon boat trolling motor and it works great.

CoPilot vs. foot controls
Being a person with horrible hand - eye coordination and even worse foot - eye coordination, if there is such a thing, the foot controls on the trolling motor really suck. The CoPilot system makes the world of fishing a heck of a lot more fun. Wish I could rate it higher than 5 Stars, but 5 will have to do. The CoPilot is the way to go.

Takes some getting used to
If you are used to a manual foot pedal, this digital control will take some getting used to. At first, I wound the motor up a couple times without noticing. But, once familiar with it, it will be hard to go back. If I'm sitting in front, I don't bother with the wireless. My partner keeps it in back for a quick adjustment in case I'm busy with a fish. If, on the other hand, I'm in a situation where I'm moving around the boat, this is great to have.

Minnkota Transmitter Replacement
I lost my original and reordered this. Just remember to push the small button on the side of the main powerhead of the trolling motor and hold it for a few seconds to program the transmitter to the trolling motor.

Trolling Motor
So far so good. It's probably a bit underpowered for my 17-foot Trophy center console but does fine on the sheltered creek where I do most of my fishing. It seems very efficient in terms of energy usage. It was hard to get reliable information on what size I should get for my boat.
